Welcome Note

Hello hello y’all!

🍃 Is “Cali Sober” a good label for the movement?

This week I asked my communities: Is “Cali Sober” a good label for the movement? Now this is not something I have a strong opinion on myself. I will call it whatever the popular term is from a ease of communication standpoint. But others…. well they had opinions. Check out the post on Linkedin to see everyone’s perspective. This was a very divisive topic. So it’ll be interesting to see how it shakes out in the long run. Again, while I may not personally use the term, it’s not something I have a strong opinion on.

What else is new? Well, as I am wrapping this newsletter up today on Thursday evening, it is my birthday and I am officially closer to 40 than I am to 30 anymore 😬😬😬

But with age comes wisdom I suppose and life has been great the last year, got married, started this newsletter, met a ton of awesome people, and I am happy to officially announce I have a new podcast launching next week (9/30/2024) with none other than David Gonzalez. The podcast, Free Spirits Podcast with David & Lars, will be all about the leaders in the Infused & Functional beverage industries. Next week I will share links to the various platforms you can listen on. We are kicking the show off with conversations with Aaron Nosbisch of Brēz, Jason Dayton of Trail Magic, Art Massolo of Cycling Frog, and more! You won’t want to miss those conversations!

This week, there will be no new interviews, but I’ll be back at it with fresh conversations next week!

Lastly, I am conducting a little survey/research into people’s experiences with these beverages. If you have 2-4 minutes to complete this survey I would greatly appreciate it!

Any comments or questions? Leave comment on this post or shoot me an email. Would love to hear from you!

As always, if you know anyone doing cool shit in the industry, please shoot me an email or fill out this form.
